A no-nonsense guide to a sometimes muddied-up subject

"Mastering Fasting" is the Chade-Meng Tan's "Search Inside Yourself" equivalent in fasting books. If you want the benefits, the whys and the know-how delivered to you in a straight manner, without unnecessary preaching or hooplah, then highly recommended. The author also often urges to listen to your own body and offers up various schedules and ways to incorporate fasting into your life, and shows you it doesn't have to be some unbearable burden on your day but rather another healthy habit like drinking enough water or getting your daily 15 minuties of vitamin D.

A thorough quick start guide

I've been interested in starting a journey to the world of intermittent fasting for years, but somehow never felt comfortable enough to start becouse of the conflicting information found in different sources.I think that what this book is really great at, is that the author has synthesized a lot of research into a comprehensive yet easy to read and implement formula.I now feel comfident to start my journey with the sense that I really have no need for further research on the web, since all my questions for the moment were answered.I am also glad that the book shed light on the differeneces of what men and women need to be aware of, so I won't be pushing ''my way''; to my wife as I've usually done in the past. She can find her own way and so far it looks like the book has sparked some natural curiosity in her as well.Overall, my biggest concern was that maybe intermittent fasting would make me more neurotic or anxious than I already am, yet after reading the author's take and compiled research on the psychological side of fasting, I again feel encouraged to experiment and see what happens.I gave the book 5 stars, because it delivers on what it promises and in a very digestable and easy to follow way.

Delivers on its promises

At first, I ordered the Kindle version but now have the paperback one as well.The book is easy to understand and well balanced. Lots of good examples with just enough references to the science behind fasting. Addresses risks (also for women) and various scenarios like how to fast when you're constantly training.What I found nice was that it doesn't just lay out the "recipe", but also gives you ideas about how to actually implement it and build a new habit.Finally got me fasting.
